DIY SOS Big Build for Children in Need

The team took part in the Big Build in Peterborough in aid of Children in Need.

The project was for ‘Little Miracles’ based in Peterborough.  Little Miracles is a parent led support group and Charity for families that have children with additional needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions.

The Big Build was to create a purpose build drop in centre and gardens.  This was the largest project the DIY team had ever undertaken.

DIY SOS - Big Build

Following an emotional interview by John Borge, Army Veteran on morning breakfast television, we decided to take up the call from the DIY SOS Team and Adam Frost by volunteering for their most ambitious project to date in Manchester.

The DIY SOS Team has transformed 2 derelict streets in Newton Heath, Manchester into a community for Army veterans and their families. In addition they have created a drop in centre supported by the charity Walking with the Wounded providing therapy and counselling at the advice centre, with training and employment opportunities also on offer.

Get Busy Living Centre

The Team took part in landscaping the grounds of Matt Hampson's Get Busy Living Centre located just outside Burrough on the hill. The brief was to create a fully assessable outdoor entertaining space.

The centre was built as part of Matt Hampson Foundation to support people who have been affected by a life changing injury and provides a place to socialise ,  exercise and provides rehabilitation.
